NAFHA stands for Nuts and Fruits in Hilly Areas Project (पहाडी क्षेत्र काष्ठफल तथा फलफूल विकास आयोजना). It is a flagship development initiative launched by the Government of Nepal with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP)

Registered farmers, cooperatives, and local agricultural groups can apply based on eligibility criteria.

In 100 local levels of 5 provinces (Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim)

The project aims to develop and expand orchards for specified fruit crops almond, apple, avocado, citrus (lime, mandarin and sweet orange), kiwi, macadamia, pecan and walnut across 10,000 hectares while directly involving at least 30,000 households. It also includes farm development for vegetables and other crops (another 10,000 hectares with 10,000 households), nursery management for fruit crops, and horticultural value chain development.
