About Us
The National Agriculture and Food Horticulture Advancement Project (NAFHA) is a government-led initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable, inclusive, and commercially oriented horticulture development in Nepal. Implemented through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the project aims to improve rural livelihoods, food security, and climate resilience—particularly in hilly regions of the country.
NAFHA focuses on expanding high-value fruit and nut production, empowering smallholder farmers, and building value chains that benefit marginalized groups, including women, indigenous peoples, and climate-vulnerable communities. The project supports Nepal’s broader goals of poverty reduction, agricultural transformation, and climate adaptation.
By aligning with the Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS) and contributing directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), NAFHA serves as a key driver of rural economic advancement and national food and nutrition security.
